Meet the 2025-2026 Highland Echo staff

Maddux Morse (’27) is an HR management and sociology double major who has written many stories for The Highland Echo since her first semester at MC. Super excited to step into the role of editor-in-chief, she hopes students will pick up The Echo to stay informed about campus news and current events. Newspapers aside, Maddux is in the MC small ensembles and concert choir, philosophy club, and she loves to watch movies and tv!

Marlee Giles (’27) is this year’s managing editor. She is a writing communication and management double major, executive secretary for SGA and an admissions ambassador. In her free time, Marlee enjoys reading, drinking coffee, listening to music on vinyl and crafting.

Addison Doornhaag (’28) and is design editor for The Highland Echo. Addison is a writing and communications major with a minor in international studies. She also loves to travel, drink coffee and watch movies.

Dakota Forelle (’28) is sports editor, and is currently in SGA as Athletic Senator and an MC Cheerleader. She enjoys classic literature, coffee and autumn. She also has an emotional support kitten named Cleo.

Sasha Hoenie (’26) is a theatre performance major at Maryville College, with minors in writing/communication and educational studies. As both a writer and assistant editor for The Highland Echo, Sasha finds an interest in stories about the Arts and Entertainment, as well as stories that highlight local politics and diversity, especially the LGBTQ+ community in the Maryville area. Outside of the Echo, you can find Sasha rehearsing on stage, reading a classic novel or watching a 90s sci-fi movie.

McKenna Marr (’28) is a writing communication major currently spending her second semester with The Highland Echo, this time as assistant editor. McKenna wishes to carry on her work with The Echo until the end of her college career, and hopes to continue a path in journalism after graduating.
