Actors wanted for student directing shows
On March 30, auditions will be held for the student-directed shows put on by Dr. Heather McMahon’s Directing class. The plays will be performed all on one night, and each one was picked by the students who will be directing them. Anyone can audition to be a part of one or more shows.
To audition, one must prepare a single one-minute contemporary monologue to perform for the directors. No experience is needed to audition for these shows. Directors will decide on those to be called back on March 31 for the final round of auditions.
“Do it! It’s all for fun,” McMahon said.
With a range of serious to hilarious shows, callbacks will consist of reading from one or more of the scripts of the plays. After callbacks, the directors will carefully select their actors. Only after that selection will actors be informed about the outcome of their audition.
“These shows are fun! They are student shows for students,” McMahon said.
Auditions will be held on March 30 at 6 p.m. in the Flex Theatre, and callbacks will be chosen by the director on March 31.
These performances are scheduled for April 22 at 8 p.m. in the Haslam Family Flexible Theatre.
