Tarot Readings for New School Year Worries

Blessings, friends, and read carefully, for what I am about to tell you is not to be ignored.

My name is Telme Wutalesyu, and if you choose, I will gladly read your fate. I may be able to offer advice on what ails you. Simply request my insight and the cards will guide my response.

Through tarot, I will pull cards from the Unveiled Tarot deck, while occasionally utilizing the Rider-Waite deck. Then here, you will find your written prophecies.

Through the cards, an alternate view of reality is visible, one that isn’t always readily apparent to us.

So come, tell me what ails you. From romance, growth, clarity and more, I have a card for them all. To help your foolish minds understand my prophetical lens, I will provide you with an example reading.

I will draw three cards for a situation in which somebody wants advice on how to navigate the anxieties of the new school year, including academic stress. The results, I believe, are worthwhile advice for any MC student.

The cards I drew were as follows: The Emperor, Five of Wands, and Temperance.

The first and third cards are considered Major Arcana, which encompass larger, broader themes. I urge you to pay close attention to these when drawn. The Five of Wands is a part of the Minor Arcana, which has comparably mundane, everyday meanings. Both types of cards possess numbers, which are important in delineating what they mean.

The Major Arcana are numbered from zero (The Fool) to 21 (The World), and collectively tell a story of learning, growth, tragedy and rebirth, all akin to the hero’s journey.

Minor Arcana also tell their own respective narratives – 40 in all. They are divided into four suits, ten cards each. Wands are one of those suits, generally associated with creativity, ideas, ambitions, and work.

To begin your reading: The Emperor numbered four as the first card is already a strong message for the querent. The Emperor represents achieving results through discipline, focus, and practical solutions.

Taking it as advice, this card tells us that taking on the new year and its workload will require hard work… but I am sure it’s nothing you earthlings haven’t dealt with before.

The Emperor along with Temperance is a reminder that stone can’t bend; don’t lose track of your human needs. In words more suited for your ears – don’t pull an all-nighter before an exam.

Five of Wands stands from The Emperor as practically antithetical. The five signifies conflict, adversity, and an incident where it seems like everything has gone wrong. Pair this with the Wand significations earlier, and you get a card that often means arguments, rashness, and accidental harm.

While The Emperor demands order, we know that sometimes life isn’t that simple. Five of Wands is a reminder that you’ll have to get out of your comfort zone to make the most out of the year. Also know that when life becomes too much to handle, take a step back and breathe.

Finally, Temperance finishes the reading in a hopeful way. Numbered 14 in the Major Arcana, it’s also traditionally associated with similar significations as the five card.

It’s an invitation to break tradition when necessary and to bring structure to a lawless land. With all the uncertainties and anxious potential in the new year, there is hope for order from chaos.

I do hope this first reading was of value.

I have taken it upon myself to get familiar with your mortal technology, so if you wish to have your own tarot read, please tell me what ails you at [email protected], or find a QR code to a google form on the Highland Echos social media.

Happy reading, earthlings.
