While interests and trends come and go, every once in a while we find something that carries so much meaning that it becomes a part of us. Tattoos have been around for thousands of years, dating back as far as 3370 B.C. This ancient art form has been used as an expression of self for centuries.
Whether it be a cause, person, song lyric, quote or sentiment, some things deserve to be permanently symbolized. This desire to engrain meaningful emblems on the body is common all over the world and in all walks of life. Maryville College students are no exception to this. A wide array of tattoos adorn the skin of students around campus, each one a beautiful reminder to the person who had it inked.
